Blame the Juicy Goodness

When I was living with the leaf, her bro the restauranteur had some bumper stickers made up. One of them ended up on our door. It was a perfect "motto" for the typical college life... didn't necessarily fit my lame-o goody-two-shoes character, but there were days I thought it might be apropos. "If it feels good, do it", it told us. (And no, by the way, I don't think lame-o goody-two-shoes is bad.)

Why is it that we just can't help ourselves? These days, we know what's good for us... and most of us often find ourselves choosing a different path. Of course we know why... because it does feel good.

The list of "not-good-for-me"s that I just can't quit:
- Diet Coke: I read an article recently (RSS, not sure of it's reliability) about how the aspartame in my beloved DC will eventually... well, I forget what they thought it would do to me this time... but I'm sure it was something bad.
- Trans Fats: Man, how I love my fast food. One story today mentioned that we should even be wary of the trans-fats-replacements when restaurants and other food providers proclaim that they're trans-fat-free. Great, something else to worry about.
- And topping the list tonight? Starburst. Not sure why I bought them or why I eat them... in bunches. But I like them. A lot. Enough to endure the icky stomach cramps that are sure to follow these five lovely little squares of fruity deliciousness. Oh, what the heck... it's a lost cause now. I'm gonna go grab another five. (And when you have a second, go watch the Factory commercial at http://www.starburst.com/advertising.jsp. I'm sure you've already seen it, but it makes me giggle every time I watch.
