Lunchpails, ticks, and missed football games

Jon started school today, but he forgot his lunch pail at home. He had to come back here at noon for a plate of his favorite turkey (thanks Mary!), dressing, and mashed potatoes. Except for that, today was just a run-of-the-mill, average-joe kind of day.

Over the weekend, Cooper had a tick on his ear. Disgusting, horrible animals as they are. Does anyone know why in the world ticks even exist? Do they serve a helpful purpose at all? I hate 'em... I say we play for extinction. Anyway, so the disgusting little jerk wouldn't come out in one piece, and Cooper is the biggest BABY in the world (he's a major SCREAMER). So, there's a piece still in him. His body is just about to eject it... but Coop won't let me help the process along at all. When I even go to look at it, he yelps like I'm killing him. The vet says we have to just make him hold still; but you try that! He has more moves than Justin Timberlake!

The other dum-dum move we made over the weekend? Well, you could have deduced it if you read my last post carefully. Okay, so you know I'm a big Panthers fan, right? (If you didn't, you do now.) And Jon's whole fantasy football team was basically made up of Giants. So, we were VERY interested in the N.Y./Carolina game yesterday. So... did anyone notice what time I posted yesterday? Yep. Right in the middle of it. Somehow, we had convinced ourselves that the Pitt/Cinci game started at 4:30, and the Carolina/N.Y. game was on after that... even though we sat here and WATCHED Eli and Shockey come to work at, like, 11 am. What were we thinking?!?!?! To make it even more pathetic, we originally thought the Carolina game was on Saturday night at 8. So, we planned to go over to some friends' house to watch with them. Our friends called us on Saturday afternoon & said... the Carolina game isn't on tonight. But you guys should come over anyway and watch the Tampa Bay game. So, we did. And did we take the time to look up the Carolina/N.Y. start time? NO! We just assumed it was 8:00... like the 2 games on Saturday (4:30 and 8). BAH!!!!!

Okay, two last things. 1) I love e-mail. I got to "talk" to another old buddy today (B&K - who knew you guys had another baby?!?!? Am I just so lame that I forgot?). And 2) I can't wait until our grass is this green again:
(Don't pay any attention to all the weeds in the front. This is before we moved in, on our first (and only) househunting trip. Those beds have since been weeded and landscaped.) You know... you saw the first pic of the house (waaaaaay down the list at the bottom of the page now).

The grass right now looks more like:

(This is the house across the street... but you can see the BROWN lawn on our side of the street! Yuck!)

The sleepy ones say hi. Much luv from Statesboro...
